2025 in a Nutshell

WOW! So much happened in 2025! I don't think I can remember or document it all. But lets try.

January: Spent some time in Orlando with my husband and friends from out of town. Faces of Addiction exhibit at Dunedin Fine Art Center. Started doing appointments with my dad. One on one time with my dad is so great. Bring my Dad to see the Faces of Addiction show. I gained a new neice and a new sister-in-law! Family is growing!

February: Twenty four years married to my husband! Initial announcement and celebration of Creative Pinellas grant with VISIBLE Art Group girls, Wendy, Lori and Beth. LoveFest booth with Pageboys! I always meet incredible people there. VISIBLE Art Group meetings preparing for our exhibit or workshops. I attempted to start the 100 day project.

March: Went to Gasparilla Festival of the Arts and came home with a few drawings and a small assemblage piece. It’s aways fun to meet new artists and see artist friends. VISIBLE Art Group Meetings preparing for our exhibit and workshops. I was part of the Dunedin Fine Art Center Member Exhibit. Spent time with my new neice. She is adorable!!

April: Worked on a business card job. Went to Mainsail Art Show and came back with some new metal art. Went to an opening reception for a friends Solo exhibit. More time with my cute baby neice. Saw my neice Brenna’s show where she was fantastic. More VISIBLE Art Group meetings for our exhibit and workshops.

May: Put together baby shower for my sister-in-law. It was fun being creative with the menu, design and interactions. My nephew graduated from the Naval Academy and I watched with my Dad on YouTube. Final VISIBLE Art Group meetings before exhibit and workshops open in June.

June: VISIBLE: Seen and Heard with VISIBLE Art Group at The Studios at 5663. So much love and support at the opening reception. We learned so much through the process and I sold two pieces. Attended a Surface Design Guild Meeting. Saw Wicked with Jordan and sister-in-law and nieces. Attended a friends opening reception. Such incredible work. Had Drawing with Thread workshop and Artist conversations activities as part of our exhibit. Such incredible interactions. Finally met my friend Marianne in person. Had another grant meeting at Creative Pinellas. Stituation Group started hanging out. Love these ladies.

July: Day out with one of my neices shopping, movie marathon and snacks. Joined The Deeper Connection group with Crystal Marie. This group has been spectacular. Thank you Marianne for the push! Went to Colorado for three days of Avett Brothers. Joined Creative Accountability with Michelle Stone. Met with Kimberly to discuss doing a commission for her clinic. Had my 35th High School Reunion. Fun night catching up. Dinner with Artsy friends! Another baby neice was born and I am so excited! Had several pieces in the Found Exhibit at The Studios at 5663 for July and August. I painted a picture of my mom that opened me up to painting more faces.

August: Brought a piece to Kimberly for another room in her clinic. She loves it and wants it. Went to Heathers Artist Spotlight at her home. Started collecting ideas and materials for Kimberlies commission. My baby turned 22!! VISIBLE: Seen and Heard moves to Creative Pinellas. We were so excited to have our exhibit with additional works at the gallery for a couple months. It's where it all started for us!! Went to New Jersey to meet our newest niece. Went to NYC and MOMA. Creative Pinellas, where I work at the gallery, was under threat of being defunded by the county.

September: Had our final meeting/celebration for the grant. They asked us to briefly speak about our experience. More on that in another post. Creative Pinellas lost county funding so their future and the future of the gallery is under question. Starting to work on commission for Kimberly and it may be going in a different direction than planned. Scary doing something I've never done before. Received great feedback from visitors on our exhibit while working at the gallery. Such an amazing experience to hear first hand how it impacted them.

October: Continuing to work at the gallery and focusing on Kimberly’s commission. Also working on a piece for Arts Annual 8 Exhibit, The Gallery at Creative Pinellas last exhibit. VISIBLE Art Group is still meeting. This ladies are the best. My life has changed from this friendship. Had VISIBLE: Seen and Heard 2nd Creative Conversations. Went to first “Crying About Art” meet up. My niece had another show!

November: Struggling with the commission and needing to work on something else to get my ideas back. Decided to make another piece for Kimberly to work through that struggle. Arts Annual gets set up! I am honored to be part of the last Arts Annual exhibit at the gallery. Work on and mail Art Swap for Deeper Connection group. See Green Sky Bluegrass. See 2nd Wicked. My oldest turned 28!!

December: Get PRP shot #1 in my knee. Down for a few days but then noticed positive changes. Gave Kimberly the piece that I worked on so I could go back to original commission. She loves it and it feels so good. Grew my hair longer than I've done since high school and then cut it back to my "signiture cut". Went to Scottsdale, Sedona, and Jasper Arizona. It was great relaxing trip. It was so nice to see my artsy friends while there and do some vintage shopping and make salt and pepper shaker ornaments.

In 2025 I reached goals, made new goals, nourtured friendships, made new friendships, spent time with family, met new family members…. Do we see a pattern? Lots of nourishing while pushing forward. Now I am thinking about 2026 and how I want to develop and move forward in the year. Time to start planning!
